Getting Started with PayoffKit
PayoffKit provides free, no-signup finance calculators for US residents. Here's how to get the most out of our tools.
Debt Calculators
Credit Card Payoff Calculator
Enter your current balance, APR, and how much you can pay each month. The calculator shows:
- Estimated payoff date
- Total interest you'll pay
- Month-by-month schedule
Tip: If your payment doesn't exceed monthly interest, you'll never pay off the balance. Increase your payment or consider a balance transfer.
Debt Snowball vs Avalanche
Have multiple debts? Compare two strategies:
- Snowball: Pay smallest balance first. Quick wins motivate many people.
- Avalanche: Pay highest APR first. Saves the most money in interest.
Enter each debt (name, balance, APR, minimum payment) and your total monthly budget. See which strategy fits your goals.
Salary Calculators
Convert between annual salary and hourly rate. We use 2,080 hours/year (52 weeks × 40 hours) as the standard full-time equivalent.
Useful for:
- Comparing job offers (salary vs hourly)
- Budgeting as a freelancer
- Understanding your true hourly rate
Loan Calculators
Loan Payment Calculator
Get your monthly payment for any fixed-rate loan. Add optional extra payments to see how they shorten the term and reduce interest.
Amortization Schedule
See exactly how each payment splits between principal and interest. Early payments are mostly interest; later payments are mostly principal.
Extra Payment Calculator
Model the impact of extra monthly payments or lump sums. Even $50/month extra can save thousands on a mortgage.
